Parables have an important function in teaching, learning particularly religious teaching especially the teachings of Jesus Christ. The parables enlighten the true heart and are food for spiritual thought. They were easy to remember and understand and were common methods of that time. It explained complicated things in simple terms. They also were to fulfill the prophecies pertaining to the Kingdom of God. The parables used by Jesus Christ in conveying his message to the common people have been explained in simple language for all to understand.
