the Bible assumes the existence of God right from the very beginning. What the Bible does is reveal the nature, character, and work of God. God is the beginning and the end. Before Him there was nothing. He is uncreated. God is the creator and sustainer of everyone and everything. He is eternal, infinite, and unchangeable in his power and perfection, goodness and glory, wisdom, justice, and truth. Nothing happens except through him and by his will. In Psalm 50:21, God reproves the wicked with this accusation: “You thought I was altogether like you.” God is “the Supreme Being; the Creator and Ruler of all that is; the Self-existent One who is perfect in power, goodness, and wisdom.”
God is Spirit: Since He is spirit and since time is His creation, He cannot be confined to time and space. He is not confined to a material body. Our five senses fall short of observing Him on two counts – one we were created as naturally limited humans and second sin has blurred our view of God. We can know God only in so far as He reveals himself to us. Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Job 11:7-8 “Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? 8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? “
God is the Creator: Jesus and the Holy Spirit alongwith the God Head, were intimately involved in the work of creation.
God is the sustainer of all life: Colossians 1:16-17 states about Jesus: "For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
God is love: (I John 4:8). His perfect love is expressed through Jesus, in His humility and serving particularly through His laying down His life as payment for our sins. Love cannot truly exist apart from God.
God is perfect in wisdom: He created all things, so He exists in the unique position of knowing everything that exists. There is nothing beyond His understanding. Psalm 147:5 teaches, "Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure."
God is omnipresent: This means He exists everywhere at all times. Proverbs 15:3 notes, "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” God is eternal and unchangeable. He is self-sufficient and almighty. He has always existed and will exist forever. He will never grow old or die.
God is holy and righteous: You cannot understand God’s relationship with mankind until you understand that He is absolutely pure and holy. He, thus, cannot tolerate or approve of sin.
God is just: He is the supreme judge. Ecclesiastes 12:14 says, “For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.”
Revelation 22:13 says, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.".
