Having understood the limitless and fathomless power of the Creator God, we have to take into cognizance that He and He alone is the Uncreated God who commands everything according to His will and pleasure. His power is absolute and nothing can stand before Him. In order to understand in greater detail, below are given some instances:
Creation: God created this world by way of mouth. He said,’ Let there be light’ and there was light. He uttered and it came to pass. The earliest manifestation of God’s power is seen in the creation of the world, which is awesome. Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Throughout Scripture, the creation of the world is cited as a compelling testimony of the power of God. Psalms 19:1 “The heavens are telling of the glory of God, And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. God has absolute power over all His creation.
Nature: God parted the Red Sea so that His people could cross it. Exodus 14:15-16 “And the LORD said unto Moses, wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
Over Water: John 6:19-21 “So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. 20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. 21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.”
Wind and Waves: Mark 4:37-39” And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Even nature acknowledged the power of the Master and submitted humbly.
Life and Death: The life and death are in the hands of God. He is the giver and sustainer of all living things. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead four days later. John 11:40-44 “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God? “So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.
Sickness and disease: In Mathew chapter 8 we learn when Jesus entered Peter's home and found Peter's mother-in-law bedridden, severely ill with a fever. The moment Jesus touched her hand she was healed! Immediately she got up and began to make dinner for them.
These are only illustrative. The miracles of the lord are innumerable.
