God's saving grace is the unmerited Favour of God that reconciles sinners through Jesus Christ. This is not the same as mercy; grace is God's goodness toward sinners, while mercy is God's goodness toward sufferers. This grace is sovereign; God gives new spiritual life to whomever he will. Grace can be defined as “God’s Favour toward the unworthy” or “God’s benevolence on the undeserving.” In His grace, God is willing to forgive and bless us abundantly, even though we don’t deserve to be treated so well or dealt with so generously.
The Bible repeatedly stresses grace as a “gift” Ephesians 4:7 “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” In the first place, anyone who has ever received a gift understands that a gift is different from a loan, which requires timely repayment and return by the recipient. The fact that grace is a gift means that nothing is owed and nothing is to be returned.
Secondly, there is no cost to the person who receives a gift. A gift is free to the recipient, although it is not free for the giver, who bears the expense. The gift of salvation costs sinners nothing. But the price of such an extravagant gift came at a great cost for our Lord Jesus, who died in our place on the cross of Calvary to pay the penalty of our sins on our behalf
thirdly, in the giving of a gift, the giver voluntarily forfeits something owned, willingly losing what belongs to him so that the recipient will profit from it This generous and voluntary exchange from the giver to the recipient is visible in II Corinthians 8:9: “You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor so that you through his poverty might become rich.”

Forgiveness: Grace also entails God's forgiveness of sins. Through God's grace, believers are forgiven and reconciled to Him, despite imperfections and sins. This forgiveness is made possible through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
Empowerment: Grace not only forgives sins but also empowers believers to live righteous and godly lives. It is God's grace that provides the strength and guidance to live according to His will.
Eternal Life: Grace is connected to the promise of eternal life. The Bible teaches that believers receive the gift of eternal life through God's grace, which is made available through faith in Jesus Christ. All we have to do is repent, believe in the Son and walk in His ways to recieve the unmerited favour.
